Do you have the guts? Do you?

Do you have the guts? Do you?

You want this and you want that but let me ask you something, do you have the guts? Do you?

You want to be happy you want to be sought after, you want to have money, you want to have him, you want to have her, you want to be here and you want to be there but do you have what it takes? Do you have the guts?

It’s easy to think it’s easy to want it’s easy to talk about it. It’s easy to walk up to the door but do you have the courage to knock. Do you have the guts?

Everything dies, everything fades away ,the only real thing in this world you can own is courage, guts, balls..[think of other metaphors for courage]. Don’t mistake courage with confidence, confidence is not permanent and totally ignorable [so is every other similar things] for success in life.
Your courage is the only real measure how much life you have gotten out this space time reality.

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it all on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breath a word about your loss;

Most people are surviving, just getting by, dead, waiting. They too are special but spineless. Life is treating them accordingly. Grow the balls and say this not gonna be it for my life, I deserve more than this, I am better than this.

Dream lives in every mind very few mind lives in their dream. Hold dream in front of you, accept it as only destination and just roll with it.

No more half measure No more waiting around No more seeking answers

Yell, scream, scratch, kick, jump, whatever. Just summon up enough courage to take the first step.
Nothing can make this life easy for you except taking the responsibility and roll with it. It takes courage, lots of courage. Find it own it live it
You have all the answers, stop wasting life and live like a man. You are not weak. I know it, you know it so stop acting like one.

It takes courage to accept seemingly weak self and go toward the thing you were born to do. Do you have the guts to do that? Do you?

Create a social mask and hide behind it

Death is not the biggest fear we have; our biggest fear is taking the risk to be alive — the risk to be alive and express what we really are. Just being ourselves is the biggest fear of humans. We have learned to live our lives trying to satisfy other people’s demands. We have learned to live by other people’s points of view because of the fear of not being accepted and of not being good enough for someone else
-DON MIGUEL RUIZ

We have created an ideal image of ourselves in our mind. A picture, a perfect picture of ourselves. As we start working to live up to that picture we realize that we are not measuring up to the picture (it's not possible!). So we get mad, we start to reject ourselves, hate ourselves. We say we are not good enough because we are not what we wished to be.

Experiencing the major rejection and pain from ourselves we start to fear rejection, any and all rejection is devastating especially from those who loves us. Out of this fear we create a social mask and hide behind it. We start to become like the next person in the room, so they will accept us, love us, for ever and ever and ever. They say yes we say yes, they say no we say no, they say may kill him we say... you get the zest. We are willing to die for our fake mask that brings us momentary acceptance than just accepting the authentic imperfect selves of ours. We are afraid of being exposed to our realness.

Fake is the way to go.

No wonder everyone is bored. No wonder everyone is waiting. No wonder everyone is so average. No wonder everyone is so dead.

Invictus

Invictus

Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
      For my unconquerable soul.
In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.
Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds and shall find me unafraid.
It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate,
I am the captain of my soul.

My favorite lines from The Alchemist (novel)

My favorite lines from The Alchemist

Last week at a friends house I was introduced with The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. I was hooked with the simple writing style and with inner dialogue of the protagonist from the first page. It touched me in a way that very few book ever did. I plan to post a detailed post regarding the massage embedded in the text (book) but for now I am going to share some of the golden nuggets of  The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho.

"To realize one's destiny is a person's only real obligation. "

"He never realized that people are capable, at any time in their lives, of doing what they dream of."

"And, when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it."

when each day is the same as the next, it's because people fail to recognize the good things that happen in their lives every day that the sun rises

"I'm like everyone else—I see the world in terms of what I would like to see happen, not what actually does."

When something evolves, everything around that thing evolves as well

The hills of Andalusia were only two hours away, but there was an entire desert between him and the Pyramids. Yet the boy felt that there was another way to regard his situation: he was actually two hours closer to his treasure…

"Because I don't live in either my past or my future. I'm interested only in the present. If you can concentrate always on the present, you'll be a happy man.....

· "Tell your heart that the fear of suffering is worse than the suffering itself. And that no heart has ever suffered when it goes in search of its dreams, because every second of the search is a second's encounter with God and with eternity."

"One is loved because one is loved. No reason is needed for loving."

A note on 'change in perception'

A note on 'change in perception'

Anthony de Mello Says in his awesome book Awareness
“Imagine a patient who goes to a doctor and tells him what he is suffering from. The doctor says, ‘Very well, I’ve understood your symptoms. Do you know what I will do? I will prescribe a medicine for your neighbor!’ The patient replies, ‘Thank you very much, Doctor, that makes me feel much better.’ Isn’t that absurd? But that’s what we all do. The person who is asleep always thinks he’ll feel better if somebody else changes. You’re suffering because you are asleep, but you’re thinking, ‘How wonderful life would be if somebody else would change. How wonderful life would be if my neighbor changed, my wife changed, my boss changed.’
“We see people and things
not as they are, but as
we are.”

It is you who needs to change, it is you who needs to wake up.

We owe it to the world to change for the better. Remember if you don't like something you must change it. Not should but must. That change might be big or small. But it always starts with realizing that something must change.

“Anytime you have a negative feeling toward anyone, you’re living in an
illusion. There’s something seriously wrong with you. You’re not seeing reality. Something inside of you has to change. But what do we generally do when we have a negative feeling? ‘He is to blame, she is to blame. She’s got to change.’ No! The world’s all right. The one who has to change is you.”

We tend to see people as we are rather than as they are. Fault is in our lenses. Next time you find yourself focusing on the ugliness of the world pause for a moment and see if you can find a little more beauty INSIDE you.

One affirmation for the growth of your self image

One affirmation for the growth of your self image
see thyself as a champion

Self-image means the way you see yourself in the minds eye or the self concept you have of yourself.

And a healthy, good feeling self image is the starting point to any goals we might have. You cannot consistently perform in a manner that is inconsistent with the way you see yourself. when your
image improves, your performance improves which means you as a man improve.

What you are now is the out picture of what you think you are inside. Think of life as a projector that projects out sum of all your ideas about yourself and life itself.

So to improve yourself in any area you have to change your image in a way that lets you be excellent in that task. And of the easiest process to do it is affirming (telling yourself either loudly or in minds voice) "I like myself","I like myself","I like myself","I like myself".....

Whenever you get few minutes tell yourself   "I like myself".
Cleaning home? "I like myself" "I like myself" "I like myself"
Stuck in traffic? "I like myself" "I like myself" "I like myself"
Bored in class? "I like myself" "I like myself" "I like myself"
Just woke up?  "I like myself" "I like myself" "I like myself".........

if we don't start, it's certain we can't arrive

Do it, try doing this for 21 days and see what happens

Freedom Writers (2007)

Take away from the movie: We become our own hero from the moment we decide to be inspired.

"This summer was the worst summer in my short 14 years of life. It all started with a phone call. My mother was crying and begging, asking for more time as if she were gasping for her last breath of air. She held me as tight as she could and cried. Her tears hit my shirt like bullets and told me we were being evicted. She kept apologizing to me. I thought, 'I have no home. I should have asked for something less expensive at Christmas. On the morning of the eviction, a hard knock on the door woke me up. The sheriff was there to do his job. I looked up at the sky, waiting for something to happen. My mother has no family to lean on, no money coming in. Why bother coming to school
or getting good grades if I'm homeless? The bus stops in front of the school. I feel like throwing up.I'm wearing clothes from last year, some old shoes and no new haircut.I kept thinking I'd get laughed at. Instead, I'm greeted by a couple of friends who were in my English class last year. And it hits me, Mrs. Gruwell,my crazy English teacher from last year, is the only person that made me think of hope.Talking with friends about last year's English and our trips,I began to feel better.I receive my schedule and the first teacher is Mrs. Gruwell in Room 203. I walk into the room and feel as though all the problems in life are not so important anymore.I am home. "

The blind side (2009)

Take away from the movie:

"That's why courage it's tricky. Should you always do what others tell you to do? Sometimes you might not even know why you're doing something. I mean any fool can have courage. But honor, that's the real reason for you either do something or you don't"

Note Regret Commitment

“What is more mortifying than to feel that you have missed the plum for want of courage to shake the tree?”
~ Logan Pearsall Smith
I do not like regrets. At the end of our days we regret the regrets, not the things that are done. No matter how poorly the thing is done it leads to somewhere whereas inaction leaves us static, stuck and very very unhappy.

Note to self:
"It is my commitment from right now that I will chase down my desires like a hungry lion. I will live a life filled with moments enjoyed. I will have no regrets, not anymore"

It's possible: My dream is possible

It's possible: My dream is possible.

All of our dreams are meant to be a reality. Our dreams, our visions and our goals promises us delicious taste of growth. You see life it self is an expression of growth. So if we have a desire for something than it is absolute that we are capable and equipped to have it.

If this time-space reality has within it the ability to inspire a desire within you, it is absolute that this time-space reality has the ability to yield you a full and satisfying manifestation of that same desire. It is Law. - Abraham
But we humans have been conditioned to see life in a negative way. Most of the time we look at our dreams and feel so little. In the Book of Numbers it says,

“In that day there were giants in the land; and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers. And we were in their sight as grasshoppers.”
when conditions around about us have taken the appearance of giants (such as unemployment, the armies of our enemy, our problems and all things that seem to threaten us) those are the giant that make us feel like a grasshopper.
In this feared position we can not look at our dreams and say "I can do it" and maintain a level of integrity with our self. But we certainly can say "It's possible!","It's possible!". "My dream is possible"
No matter how big the dream is "It's possible!". Say to yourself when in doubt "It's possible!".
We are nothing but the stories we tell ourselves, why not tell a story that empowers us instead of dis-empowering us.
Say to yourself often "It's possible, my dream is possible. Other people have done it, I can do it too. It's possible, my dream is possible!"
