Death is not the biggest fear we have; our biggest fear is
taking the risk to be alive — the risk to be alive and express what we really
are. Just being ourselves is the biggest fear of humans. We have learned to
live our lives trying to satisfy other people’s demands. We have learned to
live by other people’s points of view because of the fear of not being accepted
and of not being good enough for someone else
-DON MIGUEL RUIZ
We have created an ideal image of ourselves in our mind. A picture,
a perfect picture of ourselves. As we start working to live up to that picture
we realize that we are not measuring up to the picture (it's not possible!). So we get mad, we start
to reject ourselves, hate ourselves. We say we are not good enough because we
are not what we wished to be.
Experiencing the major rejection and pain from ourselves we
start to fear rejection, any and all rejection is devastating especially from those who loves us. Out of this fear we create a social mask and hide
behind it. We start to become like the next person in the room, so they will accept us, love us, for ever and ever and ever. They say yes we
say yes, they say no we say no, they say may kill him we say... you get the zest. We are willing to die for our fake mask that
brings us momentary acceptance than just accepting the authentic imperfect
selves of ours. We are afraid of being exposed to our realness.
Fake is the way to go.
No wonder everyone is bored. No wonder everyone is waiting.
No wonder everyone is so average. No wonder everyone is so dead.
